Hawaii Island CD Drive Guide

About the Author

A teacher by profession, Matt Carter spent 11 years as a tour guide on the Big Island.  Working for some of the best companies, taking thousands of people to places like the summit of Mauna Kea, Kilauea Volcano, and many of the more remote destinations, his style is described as "passionate".

"For me, a good tour is a combination of history, culture, science, nature, legends and local color presented with a warm smile and delivered with absolute conviction.  I love the Big Island in the deepest part of my soul and that is what I believe comes through the most." says Matt.

Currently the owner of Kona's first English Language Academy (www.uea1.com) Matt spends his days teaching English and guiding foreign guests into the magic of Hawaii.

The Hawaii Island CD Drive Guide was created from the heart, as a service to those thousands who explore the island by car.  Matt explains it this way, "The spirit of adventure that drives the self-explorers is shared by me but there is so much that can't be covered by advertisement based magazines and location signs.  Even the best guide books can't convey the feelings of the tour guide as an audio CD can.  Now you can have the guide right in the car with you and listen while you drive. Now you can explore on your own, do what you want to do and still benefit from the stories of a professional guide.  It is win-win!"

"It is my sincerest wish that you can discover the power and beauty that lives here in the island of Hawaii.  A power that can be life changing, renewing, re-vitalizing if you let it in. Aloha."
